Steep and Complex Roof Replacement
12/12 pitches, three-storey eaves, dormers and intersecting valleys. The jobs other crews turn down are the ones this crew is proudest of.

Steep roofs are a different sport
We replace steep, tall and complicated shingle roofs across Dawson Creek, Fort St John and the South Peace. On a 12/12 pitch you can't use a picker, so bundles get carried up by hand, and the day starts with anchors, ropes, scaffolding and jacks before the first shingle moves.
Steep work punishes shortcuts. It's exactly where our six-nails-per-shingle standard and photo-documented quality control earn their keep, and why the same replacement process applies whether your roof is a bungalow or a three-storey.
The Dean standard
Dean's custom mansion is the most expensive residential roof we've ever done: an $85,000 scope on a 12/12 roof that hit 3 storeys at the eave and 4.5 at the peak. Every bundle went up by hand. Tarps ran from the gutters to the ground so tar never touched the immaculate vinyl siding.
Where multiple valleys intersected and went flat for about 10 by 10 feet, we brought in Stone River Contracting for torch-on, because that spot needed the right product, not a shingle shortcut. After final inspection Dean told Chris he'd looked high and low for one little flaw and couldn't find one. Read it in full on our reviews page, or see more Fort St John work.
How we take on a steep roof
Walk it before we price it
Steep and complex roofs get planned in person. The estimate shows where the extra time and safety setup goes, with every material priced.
Ropes before roofing
Tanner is first up, setting anchors and ropes for the rest of the crew. Nobody works until the safety setup is done.
Protect everything below
Tarps and planning keep siding, decks and landscaping out of the line of fire. On Dean's house, tar never touched the vinyl.
Muscle where machines can't go
On a true 12/12 a picker is useless, so bundles go up by hand and the work runs off scaffolding, ladders and jacks.
The same standard, all the way up
Six nails per shingle, triple waterproofing, photo-documented quality control and a 10-year workmanship warranty. Pitch doesn't change the promise.
Not every roof is a rectangle
Dormers, arches, prow fronts, three-storey eaves. If shingles can go on it, we've probably put them there. And when a section truly calls for another product, like torch-on where valleys go flat, we bring in a partner we trust instead of forcing it.

What complex roofs get from us
- Real safety setup. Anchors, ropes, scaffolding and roof jacks before anyone works.
- Hand-carried bundles. When machines can't reach, muscle does.
- Siding and landscaping protection. Planned before tear-off, not improvised after.
- The right product in every spot. Including partner torch-on where shingles don't belong.
- The same 10-year workmanship warranty. Complexity doesn't water down the promise.
And the same estimate as every replacement
Silver, Gold and Platinum packages with every material listed and priced, only four possible extras named up front with their cost, and a personal cover letter that explains it all, links our reviews and mentions financing options if you need them.
Steep and complex roof questions
Is my roof too steep for you?
No. A 12/12 pitch with dormers is routine for this crew. Tanner is first up every steep roof to set anchors and ropes, and the rest of the work runs off that setup.
Does a steep roof cost more?
Steep and complex roofs take more time, more safety setup and more hand work, and your estimate shows exactly where. Every material is listed and priced, and any possible extra is named up front.
How do you protect my siding and yard?
On Dean's mansion we ran tarps from the gutters all the way to the ground so tar never touched the vinyl siding. Protection gets planned before tear-off, and the site is left clean every single day.
What about flat sections and tricky valleys?
The right product goes in the right spot. Where Dean's valleys went flat, we brought in Stone River Contracting for proper torch-on instead of forcing shingles to do a job they can't. See our partners.
