A new shingle roof, built past code
We tear off your old shingles, fix any bad wood we find, and install new architectural shingles over fresh underlayment. We do this every week across Dawson Creek, Fort St John, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge and Grande Prairie, and most homes are finished in one to two days.
Code asks for four nails per shingle. We put in six, because nailing is where cheap roofs fail. We triple-waterproof the spots where roofs actually leak, and we photo-document the work at random intervals as our own quality control. The full standard is on our roof replacement page.
"Raptor showed up when they said and replaced our roof, drip edge and vents within a day. Their cleanup made it look like they weren't even there."
Jason Sundby, Google review
What your replacement includes
- Full tear-off and disposal. We start from the wood, so nothing bad hides under the new roof.
- New underlayment, drip edge and vents. The parts you don't see are the parts that keep water out.
- Six nails in every shingle. Code asks for four. Our crew has zero tolerance for high nails or blow-throughs.
- Triple waterproofing at leak points. Valleys, penetrations and eaves get extra protection.
- Cleanup people write reviews about. Magnet sweeps, yard walk, done.
- A 10-year workmanship warranty. The industry standard is 5. We doubled it.
How a replacement week goes
One honest look
Chris talks with you, then we assess the roof and measure it, by hand or by satellite. You get a straight answer on whether replacement is even the right call.
A price you can read
Silver, Gold and Platinum packages, every material priced, extras named up front. Pick one, e-sign, and you get a realistic two-week window.
Tear-off to bare wood
Old shingles come off and go straight to disposal. Whatever we find underneath gets fixed at the price already on your estimate.

From our jobs, not a stock library
Every photo on this site comes off a Raptor roof. Here's what the work actually looks like.

"Your roof is built to last because we do the critical work properly, and our quality control system ensures nothing falls through the cracks."
Chris Perez, on the six-nail standard
What your estimate looks like
Before any work starts you'll have a written estimate you can actually read. Chris builds it the same way for every replacement:
- Three packages: Silver, Gold and Platinum. Every material listed and priced, so you compare like for like instead of guessing at line items.
- Only four possible extras, priced up front. Shiplap, a second layer of shingles, tarred-down shingles and wood repairs. Each is on the estimate disclaimer with its cost. That's the whole list.
- Measured right. By hand or by satellite, the numbers behind your price are accurate.
- A personal cover letter. It explains the estimate, links to our reviews and mentions financing options if you need them.
One honest note before you spend tens of thousands: if your shingles are drying out but not failing, rejuvenation may buy your roof years for a fraction of the price. The free assessment tells you which one you actually need. Most of our replacement work is right here in Dawson Creek and the towns around it.
Shingle replacement questions
How long does a shingle replacement take?
Most homes are torn off, sheeted where needed, and fully shingled in one to two days. We never leave a roof exposed overnight, even when the forecast looks perfect.
What if the wood under my shingles is rotten?
We fix it. Wood repairs are one of only four possible extra charges, and every one is stated on your estimate up front with its cost. See our decking and sheathing page for how that works.
Which shingles do you install?
We're a Malarkey Certified Contractor and IKO RoofPro Select installer, so we can register manufacturer warranties other contractors in the region can't offer. Your estimate shows three packages with every material listed and priced.
Do I need to be home during the work?
No. Most projects run fine with the homeowner at work. We leave the site clean and safe every single day before we go home.
What can turn into an extra charge?
Only four things, and every one is stated on the estimate disclaimer with its cost: shiplap, a second layer of shingles, tarred-down shingles and wood repairs. That's the whole list. If it's not on that list, it's in your package price.
Can I finance a new roof?
Yes. The cover letter that comes with every estimate mentions financing options if you need them. Ask Chris and he'll walk you through it.
